Stroke. Blood clots. Aneurysm. Neurological emergencies hit fast - without warning – and have the potential to leave you permanently disabled. When a medical emergency happens, you need rapid treatment.
Palmetto General Hospital is a Comprehensive Stroke Center, following national standards and guidelines that can significantly improve the outcomes of the most complex stroke cases. Most recently, Palmetto General Hospital has earned the recognition from The Joint Commission and the American Heart Association (AHA)/American Stroke Association (ASA) as meeting The Joint Commission’s standards for Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification. This designation makes Palmetto General Hospital 1 of 110 hospitals in the nation, 1 of 4 in Florida, and 1 of two hospitals to receive this accreditation, thus raising the bar for stroke care across the network. The designation confirms we have developed successful initiatives on stroke prevention, rehabilitation, education, community awareness and research.
