Scheduling & Visitor Restrictions

We will be rescheduling some patient appointments and procedures in an effort to protect our patients and staff. Conserving personal protective equipment helps us prioritize the needs of those who may require immediate care. Adjustments to scheduled procedures and appointments will be made as requested by the physician, patient or as required by official local or national public health authorities. We will contact you directly if your appointment or procedure is postponed until a later date. During this time, all Palmetto General Hospital facilities will remain open to care for patients who require in-person visits and time-sensitive care. Thank you for understanding our need to take these measures for the safety of all.

Visitor Restrictions

No Visitation Permitted

At Palmetto General Hospital, we have been adjusting our actions as the novel (new) coronavirus (COVID-19) situation evolves. Out of an abundance of caution, we are changing our visitation policy until further notice. Thank you for understanding that this for your health and safety.

No visitors will not be permitted in Inpatient Units or the Emergency Department except under special circumstances including maternity and pediatrics. Only one guest as determined by the patient (when possible). Guest must be 18 or older.

As individuals enter Palmetto General Hospital in areas such as the Emergency Department or registration, hospital staff are asking screening questions about recent travel and symptoms, including fever or respiratory symptoms (shortness of breath or cough). Guests may be denied entrance if in the opinion of the hospital it is determined that safety may be of concern.

We encourage you to use alternate methods of patient visitation such as phone, Skype, Facebook, What’s App, etc.

We will continue to work with the State Department of Health, the CDC, and our local Infection Control & Prevention Team to respond to any potential COVID-19 cases that may present at our hospital.
