Palmetto General Hospital Welcomes New VP of Medical Education

Hialeah, Fla. (February 15, 2016) – Manuel Gonzalez-Brito, DO joins the administrative team at Palmetto General Hospital as the Vice President of Medical Education. His role will involve implementing and organizing a high quality educational program. He will also be responsible for the oversight, administration and accountability of the hospital’s American Osteopathic Association’s approved programs.

In addition to his new position, Dr. Gonzalez-Brito is the Director of the Concussion Clinic and Medical Director of the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation Program at Palm Beach Children’s Hospital. He also practices at Kidz Medical Services in Coral Gables as a Pediatric Critical Care Specialist. Additionally, Dr. Gonzalez-Brito serves as a Volunteer Professor of Pediatrics for the University of Vermont College of Medicine, whose students do clinical rotations at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He is double board certified in pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Dr. Gonzalez-Brito received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University in Davie. He then completed his residency in pediatrics, followed by a fellowship in pediatric critical care at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. Dr. Gonzalez-Brito is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society, the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
