We are proud and excited to be celebrating our 50th anniversary at Palmetto General Hospital (PGH) this year, an anniversary whose significance provides us an opportunity to have us recommit to our mission, vision and values setting the stage for an inspiring
What started in 1967 with a group of 22 young physicians with an idea to establish a premier healthcare facility in western Hialeah, became a reality on January 17, 1971 when PGH opened its doors to the growing Hialeah community. PGH started as a modest
hospital and has grown and advanced to become one of the largest hospitals in our region with many outstanding world class programs to provide to this community.
We have been blessed with the talent, skills, dedication and commitment of many people who built the foundation to become the strong and progressive organization we all are a part of today. Those entrusted with the challenge of building a better future
are grateful with the efforts put in before us and stand proud, confident and ready to continue building on the infrastructure that exists today.
We know that more important than the many years that have passed, are the many achievements, trends, innovations, and contributions to the health of our community. Last year alone we touched the lives of thousands of patients and their families, and in
doing so we helped them in many ways including physically, emotionally and spiritually.
We are honored and thank you for being part of our vision and giving us the opportunity to jointly serve our community.
