Romualdo Segurola, MD, is Medical Director for the Heart Institute at Palmetto General Hospital. 

Dr. Segurola has completed clinical fellowships in heart and lung transplantation, cardiothoracic surgery and trauma/critical care, a research fellowship in vascular surgery and post-doctoral research academic training in cell biology.  He is board-certified in surgery and critical care.  

Dr. Segurola's areas of interests include off-pump coronary bypass surgery, heart and lung transplantation, ventricular assist devices, aortic root reconstruction surgery, thoracic trauma and critical care and thoracoscopy- and laparoscopy-assisted surgery.
