Palmetto Helps Sponsor Heartwalk

MIAMI, FL -- On Saturday, Oct. 11,  Palmetto General Hospital and the three other Miami-Dade Tenet hospitals, through Tenet Healthcare Foundation, were Presenting Sponsors of the American Heart Association's 2008 Start! Heart Walk.

Along with Palmetto General Hospital, participating hospitals were Coral Gables Hospital, Hialeah Hospital and North Shore Medical Center. 

As the Signature Sponsor, the Tenet Healthcare Foundation donated $75,000  to the American Heart Association.  Each hospital also raised additional funds. Many hospital employees joined Team Tenet as walkers to fight heart disease.

At the event, the Mayors of Hialeah and Hialeah Gardens announced their plans to make their cities 2009 Heart Ready Cities-- with the help of Palmetto General Hospital and the Heart Institute at Palmetto General Hospital.
