HIALEAH, FL -- Palmetto General Hospital, a 360-bed acute-care hospital, announced its new Governing Board Members for 2009.

The Governing Board Members are responsible and accountable for the performance of the hospital, its long term strategy and vision. The new members are:

  • Frederick Lippman, R. Ph., Ed.D., Chairman - Chancellor, Nova Southeastern University
  • Jose Gomez, M.D., Vice Chairman -Psychiatry
  • Frederick Lancet, M.D., Secretary - Pathology
  • Raul Alonso, MD - Cardiovascular Disease
  • Rev. Monsignor Franklyn Casale - President, St. Thomas University
  • Yioset De La Cruz - Mayor, City of Hialeah Gardens
  • Orlando Garcia, D.O. - Internal Medicine
  • Vincent Omachonu, Ph.D. - Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering, University of Miami
