   Volunteer Program

Looking for something to do with your extra time? Come and join the more than 200 adults and 100 teenagers who make up the Palmetto General Hospital Volunteer Team.

Right now we are coordinating our special Teen Summer Volunteer/Career Awareness Program. All teens between the ages of 14 and 17 who are interested in volunteering need to call the Volunteer Hotline immediately and sign up for our Summer Program.

Volunteer registration  includes completing the Summer Teen Volunteer Application Package, attending the Parent/Student information session as well as a full day of Orientation, and providing proof of the Hepatitis B Vaccine and a recent Tuberculosis test. Teen participants should commit to at least eight hours of volunteer service during the eight-week program, and need to purchase their volunteer shirt.

Please call 305-823-5000 extension 2665 right away to sign up for this exciting volunteer program.

If you are interested in working throughout the school year, we also offer our Palmetto MEDS Program (Medical Explorers Dedicated to Service) featuring five fulfilling hours of volunteer work per week. Call today to find out more information and sign up for the fall.

All adults interested in volunteering should call our Volunteer Department at 305-823-5000 extension 2665 for an interview. We have volunteer opportunities in all departments including working with patients and also in non-patient related areas. Call today and discover how rewarding your hours of volunteer service can be!
